Delhi to Manali trip is a great option if you want to spend a few days away from the busy city and enjoy the mountains. This 5 nights, 6 days trip takes you through scenic roads, popular places in Manali, local attractions, and some fun activities along the way.
Here’s how the six days actually play out.
Day 1: Getting out of Delhi
You pick up the Volvo bus (or private cab, depending on what you booked) from Delhi in the evening. Most buses leave around 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM. Once you get past the city traffic, you can just lean back, put your headphones on, and sleep through the long overnight drive.
Day 2: Landing in Manali and local spots
You’ll reach Manali around 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM. The air hits you immediately—it’s cold, clean, and smells like pine trees. After checking into the hotel and taking a quick shower, we start with a few close-by places:
- Hadimba Temple: Built right inside a thick woods area.
- Vashisht: Famous for its natural hot water springs.
- Mall Road: Great place to walk around in the evening, grab warm street food, and buy woolens.
Day 3: Solang Valley and through the Atal Tunnel
This is usually the biggest day of the trip. We drive up toward Solang Valley where you can try paragliding, ATV rides, or zip-lining. From there, we go through the Atal Tunnel and exit on the Lahaul side to visit Sissu. The landscape completely changes here—it gets much more rocky and rugged. We head back to Manali by evening for dinner.
Day 4: Kullu rafting and Kasol
We head down the valley toward Kullu. If you want to do river rafting on the Beas, this is where it happens. After Kullu, we drive into Parvati Valley to check out Kasol, walk around the riverside cafes, and pay a visit to the hot springs at Manikaran Sahib.
Day 5: Jogini Falls walk and night bus back
Keep your morning easy. You can walk up to Jogini Waterfalls if you want a nice short hike, or just chill in Old Manali at one of the bakery cafes. In the afternoon, pick up any last-minute stuff from the local market before boarding the overnight Volvo back to Delhi.
Day 6: Back home
The bus drops you off in Delhi early in the morning, right in time to grab a auto or cab home.

FAQs:
1. Driving time from Delhi
It’s usually a 12 to 14-hour drive. Most overnight buses leave Delhi around 7 PM, so you basically sleep through the trip and get into Manali by 8 or 9 the next morning.
2. Best time to visit
If you want pleasant weather for walking around, aim for March to June. If you’re heading up specifically to catch snow, December through February is your best bet.
3. Rohtang Pass permits
The local government puts a daily cap on how many vehicles can drive up there, so a permit is required. If you book with tourio.in, we handle the application and secure the pass for you—no extra headache on your end.
4. Atal Tunnel during winter
Yep, it stays open almost all year round, even when Rohtang gets snowed in. You can drive through it and reach Sissu in Lahaul Valley in under an hour.
5. Packing tips
For summer trips, regular casual clothes are fine—just throw in a hoodie or light jacket for cool evenings. For winter, definitely bring heavy coats, thermals, gloves, and thick socks because it gets properly cold.
6. What’s included for meals
Your breakfast and dinner at the hotel are covered in the package. We leave lunch open so you can grab whatever you feel like at local dhabas or Old Manali cafes while out sightseeing.
7. How to book
